Devotees
of Our Lady of Peaceand Good Voyage
cap a month long celebration by
trekking on foot from various points
of Metro Manila to her shrine in
Antipolo.
Antipolo is a city of devotion to
our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage
whose image was brought to the Philippines
from Mexico by Gov. General Juan
Niño de Tabora in year 1626.
FEAST OF THE
BLACK NAZARETH (January 9, Quiapo
Manila)
Thousands
of devotees flock around the life-size
statue of Black Nazarene as it inches
across the street packed with devotees
around Quiapo Church. Miracles have
been attributed to this 400 year
old statue which was transported
by galleon from Mexico to Manila
in 17th century.

A
revival of religious tradition with
more than 60 images of Blessed Virgin
Mary from various parishes &
provinces paraded.
LA NUESTRA
SEÑORA DE GUIA (December,
Ermita Manila)
In
1918, townfolks celebrated the return
of the precious image of La Nuestra
Señora de Guia protector
of seafarers. Every year a group
of young ladies and sailor-clad
escorts relive the scene int he
Bota de Flores.

NG CALOOCAN FESTIVAL (February 12,
Caloocan)
One
of the highlights of the city's
Foundation Day, showcasing the use
of "pamaypay/fan" as traditional
tool to the surging heat as exhibited
in techno-modern folk street dancing
competition.
LA NAVAL DE
MANILA (Second Sunday of October,
Sto. Domingo Church)
Nuestra
Señora del Santisimo Rosario
has been honored since 1646 for
aiding the Spanish navy against
the Dutch. A ship-shaped carriage
takes the image around town in a
procession that leads back to the
church.
