ELECTIONS
The
Prodyuser ng Mga Pelikulang Pilipino
sa Asya, Inc. (formerly the Philippine
Motion Pictures Producers Association,
Inc.) has just elected its new board
of directors during a meeting at the
Club Filipino in San Juan last Thursday,
October 12.
The new board of directors
includes Robbie Tan (Seiko Films),
Orly Ilacad (OctoArts Films), Manuel
Nuqui (Four-N-Films), Atty. Espiridion
Laxa (TIIP/EDL Films), Malou Santos
(ABS-CBN Star Cinema Films), Aneth
Gozon-Abrogar (GMA Films) and Jesse
M. Ejercito (Crown Seven Productions).
The board will be electing
the officers to spearhead the premier
producers’ group in the country.
No tentative date has yet been decided
upon.
Manny Nuqui, the outgoing
president, said that the group is
still working on amendments to its
constitution and by-laws in consultation
with Atty. Josabeth (Joji) Antonio-Alonzo,
producer of MLR Films.
The outgoing officers
and board members were: Atty. Laxa,
chairman; Teresita Cruz of Viva Films,
vice-chairman and treasurer; Manny
Nuqui, president; Malou Santos, vice-president
(internal affairs); Orly Ilacad, vice-president
(external affairs); Robbie Tan, PRO;
and Jesse Ejercito, Eric Cuatico,
Cirio Santiago and Tony Matoto, board
members.
The present roster of
PMPPA members includes the following
production outfits:
Angora Films, Canary
Films, CineSuerte, CM Films, Double
Impact Productions, Golden Lion Films,
Kaizz Ventures, Maverick Films, MLR
Films, Premiere Productions, Reflection
Films, Rocketts Films, Rosas Productions,
RVQ Productions, Tri-Vision Films
and Water Plus Films.
