THREE
SEMINAR WEEKENDS START SATURDAY
For
the next three weekends, two guilds
of the Film Academy of the Philippines
will be undertaking the final two
seminar-workshops scheduled for this
year.
The United Film Music
Directors’ Association of the
Philippines (UFIMDAP) will hold its
workshop on digital production of
music for December 2-3 and 9-10 at
the FAP office on Panay Avenue, Q.C.
while the United Film Editors’
Guild of the Philippines (UFEGP) has
scheduled its own workshop for December
16 and 17 in Pagsanjan, Laguna.
The UFIMDAP workshop
will emphasize the digital production
of music through computer and keyboard
interactions designed for musical
scoring, arrangement, orchestration
and composition. Its main resource
person is Eric Narvaez who will expound
on MIDI (Musical Instrument on Digital
Interface).
Narvaez is expected
to provide hands-on application for
computers, auto-score keyboards and
the Gemelege speakers.
The UEFGP, meanwhile,
has released the schedule of its own
two-day seminar-workshop. Interested
participants can register for the
seminar at the UFEGP office at the
FAP at OctoArts building on Panay
avenue, Q.C.
All participants and
workshop officials will depart for
Pagsanjan, Laguna at 6 o’clock
p.m.on Friday, December 15.
The first day schedule
of the seminar-workshop (Dec. 16)
will include:
8 a.m.—Opening
message of FAP Chairman Atty. Espiridion
Laxa.
After the opening message,
the first seminar topic will be held.
This concerns Digital Cinematography
and High Definition Camera
Techniques in Specialized Visual Effects.

1:30 p.m.—Topic:
Digital Film Editing Procedures
(Resource persons: Dave Hukom and
Alex Castañeda).
5 p.m.—Topic:
Film Direction
(Resource person: Augusto Salvador).
6 p.m.—Topic:
Film Direction & Editing
(Resource person: Marcelino Navarro
with Edgardo ‘Boy’ Vinarao
as alternate speaker).
The second day schedule
is as follows:
8 .a.m.—Topic:
Film Direction and Scriptwriting
(Resource person: Jose N. Carreon).
1:30 P.M.—Topic:
Film Direction and Production Design
(Resource person: Mel Chionglo).
The participants
and workshop staff will depart for
Manila at 6 o’clock p.m.
